Font & Color

Look around, first left and now to your right! I’m pretty sure you looked at something with color or type. As a matter of fact, you are currently looking at color and a font. I am taking a class a local community college for Publication Design and Production. In this class the primary program we focus on is Adobe InDesign. This week we focused on the importance of color and font and how to work with it in Adobe InDesign. Did you know both font and color are important in a design because they can convey a mood or message? We also learned about rulers, guides and special effects that can be created in the program and how to work with it. There are many shortcuts that can be used when using InDesign that will make your job easier.

If you are a subscriber to Adobe Creative Cloud you have access to a great feature called Adobe TypeKit. Adobe Typekit allows you to search a typeface and sync it to your account and you can use it with any Adobe Program that contains a type and font option. This is a great tool that I will be using for future projects, the font options are endless.

I was given an assignment to create a poster board describing a character. I selected Stitch for my character and described his internal/external features. It was interesting to see my classmate’s posters, they were unique and creative. We had the opportunity to give each other feedback to help improve our design. I enjoyed this assignment!
